Government

Helping government leaders and employees earn citizen trust. All government leaders and employees face significant challenges in building and maintaining safe, caring, and productive communities. Citizens expect services they can trust from governing councils, managers, department heads, law enforcement, other emergency first responders, and employees.

The challenges include economic, education, environmental, safety, entertainment, planning and transportation matters. Far too often, when trusting relationships with citizens are impaired, the root cause stems from a character issue.

A strong framework of character throughout government depends upon the commitment and example of government leaders. That framework is enhanced and maintained when character is deliberately and pro-actively emphasized, required, and recognized.

Character Fort Collins primarily uses a system for government leaders, developed by Character First! ®, to keep strong the character framework within which government agencies operate. The training includes:

  • Understanding the relationship between unfavorable symptoms which impair citizen trust and issues of character
  • The integration of a character focus throughout a government agency
  • Creating a safe environment for employees to appeal decisions
  • Hiring for character
  • Character based correction
  • Recognizing and praising the character of government leaders and employees

Character Fort Collins provides training, consultation, and resources to government leaders who desire a strong character culture throughout their organizations.
