Schools

We want to help students prepare for lasting success!

We believe that education isn't fully effective unless the student builds a foundation for lasting success by learning to exercise knowledge and skills through a framework of good character. The primary agent for character development in any community is the family, but schools also have a critical role to play in support of families by reinforcing character development in all school activities.

Schools that are deliberate in their character education efforts report highly improved learning environments with better staff and teacher morale, reduced behavioral interventions, and improved student performance.

Effective character education in any school is comprehensive, pro-active, and systematic. It is at the core of the entire school experience for staff and students and is integrated into all academic and extra-currricular activities, rather than a stand-alone program.

For an excellent overview, we invite you to visit the Character Education Partnership's Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education.

Character Fort Collins provides consultation, character education curricula, and teacher in-service training for schools, primarily using resources developed by Character First! Education.
